Excursion to cueva de los pumas (pumas’ cave)

This 1 km hike is a good start to get to know the surroundings of the Leonera. You’ll find a variety of mountain flora, springs, and, if we’re lucky, even fox sightings. We’ll begin the hike through pine forests to the Virgen de la Leonera, strategically located in the 1950s to protect the valley, the land, and its inhabitants.

We’ll then continue to the Cueva de los Pumas, a place chosen by the Pumas to protect themselves from the cold and snow, as well as to care for their cubs. The last sighting was four years ago.
